Back in Rand’s early days, he found more joy in his mother’s small business marketing which he worked as a web designer and later dropped out from the University of Washington in 2000.
After a few years of working as a web designer, Rand created the SEOmoz blog in 2004, not knowing that it will become a popular asset in his life. In 2007, Rand finally launched his company and became the CEO of SEOmoz which is now known as Moz.
After only seven years of operation, his company revenues grow from $800,000 to $29.3 million, from seven employees to 134, and has now over 30 million visitors. Moreover, in 2013, he shifted the company mission to widen the SEO tools, and in 2014, Rand decided to step down as CEO.
Rand also loves to share his brilliant ideas as he travels around the world, giving over 30 speaking appearances at marketing conferences.
